Our school is located on #10 highway, 10 kilometres north of #1 highway in the village of Forrest, Manitoba. There are 178 kids in our K-8 school. We have 20 students in our class. Some of us live in the village of Forrest. Others live in Campbell's Trailer Court, on farms or in country homes near Forrest, Justice, Rapid City, Douglas, Brandon, in Chater, near Shilo, or in the city of Brandon.
Our classroom teacher is Mrs. Koshowski. The principal of our school is Mr. Stiles. Mrs. Koshowski teaches us math, language arts, French, health, art and computer studies. We do social studies with Miss Lobb. Our science teacher is Mr. Foster. We have our physical education classes with Mrs. Hildebrand. Mrs. MacDonald teaches us music and plans our performances.
We have a great facility for all of this learning and fun. Our library is awesome! It is run by our favorite librarian, Mrs. Schroeder. Our computer lab has twenty-five computers which are always kept busy working for the nine classrooms of kids who use them. The common area between the library and the computer lab is a great place to work on individual or group tasks. The science lab doubles as our art room. Best of all is the newest part of our school! Our gym is BIG and BUSY! We have lots of excellent equipment to make our phys. ed. classes fun as well as valuable learning experiences. The lunch time intramural program with Mrs. Hildebrand is a favorite part of our school life in the gym. Right next to our gym is a canteen that is open for us every day at lunch time.
We are very proud of our school and are happy to call Forrest Elementary "A Place for Kids"!
