GRADE THREE COURSE OUTLINES
2007– 2008
Language Arts
Reading, Creative Writing, Speaking, Listening, Handwriting, Spelling and Grammar activities will be incorporated into a variety of theme units throughout the year. A home reading program will be implemented as well.
Mathematics

Social Studies
Grade three Social Studies focuses on Communities of the World. The first unit will be Connecting With Canadians, followed by Exploring the World, and then a study of Mexico and Egypt.
Health
The Health program that is followed in grade three is a Lions Quest program called Skills for Growing. Units that are studied will be Building a School Community, Growing as a Group, Making Positive Decisions, Growing up Drug Free and Celebrating You and Me.
French
The French program in grade three continues to expose students to basic French terms such as:
Colors
Numbers 1 – 20
Days and Months of the Year
Animals
EVALUATION: Each subject area will be evaluated through daily work, projects and assignments and unit tests or quizzes. Students are encouraged to always do their best and be prepared for the school day with proper rest, nutrition and tools for school.
