ONGOING PORTFOLIO WORK

Once again, our students will  be working on keeping their portfolios updated as well as broadened.  At MCI we show our students the benefits of having such an extensive portfolio, and at times compare it to having "a bag of tricks" in their back pockets.  This metaphor seems to work as it allows the students to see that we can use different pieces of our portfolios for different jobs, volunteer opportunities, leadership programs, scholarships, and schooling.

Stand out and be noticed, the pay off will be worth it!

The grade 12 year is when the portfolio work comes into full bloom, as it is both a requirement in their E.L.A. classes as well as the final piece to their Career Development Credit.  During this year our students will put together all the work they have done up to this point and expand upon it once again.  The students will put all of these pieces together in a uniformed manner and present it in a binder.  Once their portfolios are finished, they are handed in for marks and returned to the students.  It is at this point that the students will see the significance of these as they are a reflection of their lives thus far, and provide a clear picture of what goals, aspirations, intentions, and paths they want to follow.
