The new realities of the contemporary workplace and the contemporary worker have changed our perception and use of the concept of career.  Career development is now viewed as complex and multidimensional, involving growing through life and work-an interweaving of learning, experiencing, living, working, changing, identifying, and discovering pathways.  Or in other words... career development can be seen as the creation of an individual's life/work designs.

With new technology, diversity, world wide communication, and awareness our working world is ever changing and moving on a much faster pace than ever before.  At MCI, we feel it is important to acknowledge these changes and therefore place a high value upon the Career Development Program.  Today's youth need to be prepared for jobs that may not even be created yet.   This is a difficult concept to accept, yet attainable through technology, communication, volunteering, leadership, academics, and work experience.

In grade 11, we attempt to move our students to another level of thinking in terms of what they could see themselves pursuing after graduation.  Students are introduced to a five day work experience program, where they are involved with employers during a regular day of work.

Below are some links as to what our Grade 11 students will be exposed to, along with links for you to download the required forms as well (should they be required).  Please take the time to check them out as they will provide you with the needed information to stay informed.
