Fall - breezy and warm; average tem in the 70's

Pecan trees, cotton fields, red chili fields, soybean fields, and a few cotton fields

II. Community History
1. Who were the early inhabitants of this area?
The Manso Indians were here first. But, the Spaniards came around the late 1500's.
2. What attracted people to this location?
El Paso's name came from the Spanish name El Paso del Norte which means the Pass of the North. People used this area as a pass from Mexico to the U.S..
3. What was community like during successive stages of development?
In 1849, Fort Bliss was built and marked the biggest change in El Paso's history.
4. In what ways has your community and community life changed since it was established?
Although Spaniards and Indians settled the area, Mexicans and Americans quickly took over and their culture has intertwined.
III. Meeting the Needs and Wants in the Community
1. How do people meet their needs and wants in your community?
It is not very expensive to live in El Paso, so many people live comfortably on a fair amount of money. factories and law enforcement are big employers in the area. With all the culture, there are many festivals to go to.
2. What needs and wants do people fulfill outside your community?
Our community is big enough to fulfill its own needs.
3. Has your community become more or less self sufficient over the years it has existed?
