studymb.jpgSeeking Great Homestay Families!

In 2008, 5 school divisions formed Study Manitoba to develop an international student program in Southwestern Manitoba.  We represent your school and those in the following divisions:  Beautiful Plains, Fort La Bosse, Rolling River, Southwest Horizon and Turtle Mountain.

Over the past 9 years, 590 students have enrolled into schools in our area. They have come from countries around the world like Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Japan, Brazil, China, France and Spain.  Friendships were made and cultures united.  The feedback from these international students shows they truly appreciate the opportunity to learn and live with Canadian families.

The program relies upon the support of the communities we represent.  The 2018-19 school year is fast approaching and we are now receiving applications.  We are seeking great homestay families like yours for a variety of programs:  4 week, 12 week, full semester and full year programs.  Students range in age from 13-18 years old.

Please consider opening your home to a student from abroad. If you are interested in hosting, please contact Danette Lockhart, International Student Program Coordinator by email: or call 204-841-4394 for more information. You can also visit our website at to find out more about homestay family
