No unusual absenteeism reported as of Nov. 19, 2009 10:00AM
When a report of universal absenteeism is received, the school contacts public health for expert advice
and direction. Public health will tell the school if any changes need to be made to reduce the spread of infection,
and the school will inform parents of these recommended changes.
It is important to note that absenteeism reports may not be because of the flu. Absenteeism may be related to
other medical or non-medical reasons. For more information on how to reduce your risk of H1N1 flu, visit www.rrsd.mb.ca/rrsd/pages/pandemic.html

About Our School
Erickson Elementary School is located in the village of Erickson, Manitoba,19 km south of beautiful Riding Mountain National Park. The school of 125 students (K-6) serves Erickson and surrounding area as well as Rolling River First Nation. The school is continually striving toward a better environment of reusing, reducing and recycling. It is now an Earth School, completing 1000 environmental projects and receiving our final banner badge in the SEEDS program. Being only two blocks from the Collegiate (7-12) there is easy access to facilities and dialogue between the two schools.
The Village of Erickson is easily accessed by paved highway from all directions. Once in Erickson you will find a busy little place with a number of shopping facilities to serve you: groceries, hardware and lumber yard, service stations, restaurants, banking as well as a pitch and putt golf course. There are also a number of service clubs such as the Lions, Legion, 4-H and Chamber of Commerce. The town offers a number of recreational activities: skating rink, a curling rink with artificial ice, a number of ball diamonds for minor and senior baseball and fastball, a pitch and putt golf course, 2 gymnasiums and a camping area. Also, due to its location, the surrounding area offers some of the best hiking trails, camping facilities, golf courses, ski-dooing trails and fishing areas found in Manitoba. |
