MMSM Bag Up Manitoba, Plastic Shopping Bag Challenge!

Since the fall of 2008, elementary schools in Manitoba have collected over EIGHT MILLION plastic bags for recycling into recycled items for their schools. This year's participation will be a bird feeder for our school!
The goal of this challenge is to teach students to do more to reduce their waste and consider reusing, recycling and remanufacturing options. Students are asked to collect as many plastic shopping bags as possible and bring them to their school for recycling.

How to Get Involved in the Challenge? 

Collect and count: We encourage all students and their families and staff to collect as many plastic shopping bags as possible between 

October 2, 2017 and October 31, 2017 

Package: All individual plastic bags should be packaged into a bundle of 25 bags (if possible- individual bags will be counted and bundled in their classrooms)

Visit: to see where you can recycle your bags throughout the year!

· case over wrap
· pellet bags
· salt bags
· dry cleaning bags
· re-sealable food bags
