About Our School
Rivers Elementary School is situated in Rivers, Manitoba, 40 km north of Brandon. The school’s population is 165 students from Kindergarten to Grade 6.
Rivers Elementary School strives to provide a safe, positive learning environment for all students. The school features both primary and intermediate choirs. We have a Science Lab with live animals, along with live animal displays outside the school, a large adventure playground structure, an outdoor skating rink in the winter, a hard surface basketball court, computers in the classroom as well as a computer lab equipped with 31 computers with internet and e-mail access. Our school is also quite involved in Model Rocketry.
Special ‘dress up’ days, Voyageur Day, hot dog days, spaghetti days, macaroni & cheese days, Winter Carnival, Christmas Concert, Intra Murals, Field Day, as well as other special activities are organized throughout the year in order to foster positive attitudes in students. The school has a parent volunteer program at all grade levels and encourages parents to take an active part in their child’s education.
