COVID-19 Reminders for RRSD Community

April 26, 2021

With the emergence of COVID-19 variants of concern (VOC), Rolling River School Division (RRSD) will continue to follow the public health fundamentals such as self-screening at the beginning of every day, enhanced cleaning protocols, two-metres physical distancing, the appropriate use of masks.

Here are a few important reminders that will help keep students, staff and schools safe for the rest of the school year.

Self-Screening

Students should stay home from school if they are sick, no matter how mild the symptoms. Each day before leaving for school, parents/guardians are to use the Manitoba COVID-19 Screening Tool. If a student displays any symptom of illness while at school, they will be isolated, and their parent/guardian will be contacted to pick them up.

Contact Tracing

If a COVID-19 case appears in one of our schools, Public Health directs the contact tracing process, including determining who must self-isolate. Principals and the RRSD Senior Administration Team collect basic information about the individual including, but not limited to:

  • Last date they attended the school
  • Seating plan
  • Cohort grouping
  • Schedule
  • Confirmation of physical distancing and mask usage

Household Isolation

Your entire household must self-isolate if anyone in your household:

  • Is symptomatic for COVID-19
  • Is awaiting COVID-19 test results
  • Is a close contact of a confirmed COVID-19 case
  • Has travelled outside of Manitoba.
