National Day for Truth & Reconciliation Sept. 30

National Day for Truth & Reconciliation Sept. 30
Posted on 09/14/2024

Monday, September 30th marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day for reflection, learning, and remembrance.  This month, our schools and divisional staff across RRSD are dedicating time to honor the children who attended residential schools - especially those who never returned home.

Understanding and acknowledging these painful truths is a crucial step on our shared journey toward reconciliation.  During Truth and Reconciliation Week, RRSD is committed to fostering ongoing conversations within our schools, raising awareness about the history and experiences of Indigenous peoples, and paying tribute to the survivors, their families, and communities.  Together, we can work toward a future rooted in understanding, healing, and respect.
